Let's talk Marking Samplers. I have been collecting and drawn to marking samplers for years. Some I have charted and released and some, like this one, has been waiting for the right time. I hope you will enjoy spending 2 hours with me stitching a portion of the original sampler attached to a bread board for displaying on an easel or hanging on your wall. This intriguing sampler was stitched by Mary Duncen and completed in 1808 at the age of 12.
The sampler was stitched in black, blue, periwinkle, cream and red. My Bread Board model is stitched on 32 count Weeks Dye Works Cocoa linen.
