Learn the basics of Hardanger embroidery. From basting, kloster block placement and formation, to the ease of cutting.  Flawless anchoring, along with the plain wrap, picot, dove’s eye filling stitch and the perfect bind off. The center Hardanger cutwork area is surrounded by a simplistic cross stitched floral and leaf design stitched over one fabric thread on 22ct blush colored Hardanger fabric.  DMC fibers Pearl Cotton #5 and Pearl Cotton #8 and muted hues of rose, plum and pale shades of green, compliment the charming sachet style drawstring bag.  Kit includes: charted design with a detailed stitch tutorial and finishing techniques.  22ct Hardanger fabric, fibers, mounting form and petite silver scissors. The three-inch metal tin has a magnetic lid and is prefinished inside with a padded fabric ruche edge interior. The sachet style drawstring bag was created just for you by me!

A sample cloth is provided for learning and each student will have the opportunity to cut and wrap within the class time frame.  I have taught Hardanger embroidery for over 25 years, whether you are a beginner or familiar with this intricate form of needlework this is the perfect time to learn my techniques and ‘tricks’ to Take the Hard out of Hardanger.  Bring to class: a sharp embroidery scissors, magnification if needed and the desire to learn something new!
